Posts: 921 | When I was up there a few weeks ago, it was all dirt and I think it was closed. They were detouring everyone south and around.

Posts: 1767 Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Are you coming up from WI? Your best best is to to skip both altogether if you are going to Baudette.... Highway 2 west out of duluth to highway 46 north in Deer River...then for 5-6 miles you follow 1/72 west to eventually get on 72N....72 N straight to Baudette with no delays

Absolutely agree with Brian. That's the route we've taken the last few years and there have been zero hassles.

Posts: 173 | Is there any reason to go to Baudette if I'm headed to Nestor Falls vs say Morson. We normally cross at International Falls and take 11 west of Fort Francis to Emo before heading north on 71...

Posts: 3480 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hiya, If you are headed to Nestor falls, then crossing at International falls is fine, given you are coming anywhere from the south. If you are coming from the very far reaches northwest MN, then cross at Baudette. Steve

Posts: 5874 | Going to via Int'l Falls isn't bad. Coming back is always a parking lot in the daylight hours. I prefer Baudette both ways. They have better panckaes in Baudette. Edited by Shep 8/8/2012 4:02 PM

Posts: 443 Location: Duluth, MN | We were just there 2 weeks ago. Crossed at I-Falls and took the Canada 11\71 west all the way to 621N to Morson. No construction delays. Not sure about US 11 West. We crossed on a monday so no delays. Saturdays is a nightmare just based on the sheer number of cars crossing unless you get there early. Edited by Lundbob 8/9/2012 7:35 AM

Posts: 897 | I just looked at the website and it looks like a pretty small detour. Something like 7 miles total on gravel instead of 4 miles on pavement. I'd rather deal with that detour than deal with the drive between Grand Rapids and Baudette. Much prefer the drive from Duluth to I-falls to Baudette.

Steve Not sure it was always called the Ranch House. Across from the pahrmaceutical place, on the south side of Main St. 203 W Main St Baudette, MN 56623 Phone: (218) 634-2420 Not even sure it's still in business. It was 3 years ago when I was last there. Edited by Shep 8/9/2012 1:36 PM

Posts: 17 | I have crossed at I-Falls six times this year and the most cars that were in front of me was 5 and two of the times I only had to stop at the sign before moving ahead. Usually get through in 15 minutes but this year has been really fast, twice I came back on a Sunday afternoon and it was even fast then.
