I use smaller soft plastic baits, worked slower near the bottom.

Jig and grub, smaller tubes, etc. work well when the water is almost at freezing. Because you have to fish so slowly you need to be dialed into the location well. If you can find them, you can catch them with these lures.

My friend Mike got one on Sunday night on Lake Monona through the ice using a jigging pole fishing for walleyes. 42 inches
