Posts: 322 | I have fishing with a curado 300e and it is very smooth powerful and comfortable to use. I really want to know how the Abu stacks up against the curado. Has anyone used both of them? Please help I would appreciate your input. Thanks

Posts: 646 Location: In a shack in the woods | I started the season with 2 revos. After Sunday I was down to one, the next Saturday I was down to none. Tge ouch button went out on one and blew the drag on the other. I just got the 300e 3 weeks ago. I'm really liking it so far and it hasn't broke yet.

Posts: 720 | Have two Curado 300's for three seasons. Not a single issue with any of them. Can't give you an opinion on the Revo's never owned or fished with one. My friends love them.

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | Both are good reels, you have more opions with the Toro over the Curado, the Toro comes in a 50 or 60 size and 3 gear ratio of 4.6, 5.4, 6.4, the Curado comes in one size and one gear ratio of 6.2, and both have AAA service. I have both a Toro in a 50 and 3- 60 reels and a Curado E, and a 300DSV.

Posts: 582 | Highly suggest the Toro. i just bought 2 of them, the winch and the regular 5:1.. I love them for pulling large blades and they take some of the work off of you. Never would have believed it til i tryed it.

Posts: 50 | I've got 2 revo's in the 50 5.4.1 and a 60hs and a 300 curado. the small 50's are great for cranking jakes and twitching stick baits but the hs I'm not happy with. My comparrison is with use for showgirls so double 6's is my basis for comparison on a legend top and tail and the 60 dosen't handle the blades nearly as well as the shimano. Just my 2 cents

Posts: 619 | i think hands down the Curado has more quality and will last longer. overall much more value in the Curado in my opinion.

Posts: 322 | I just tried out my buddies Saltist 40. I threw a couple double 13’s and I didn’t even know they were there. I could crank it in so fast I had to keep the rod tip down in order to keep the double 13 in the water. It had an unmatched power to anything I had used before. I down side is I feel it is just too big. Maybe if I fished it for a week I might get use to it but it is huge. It feels awkward on my St. Croix Big Dawg 8’ 6”. Probably because my rod weighs 10 oz. and the reel weighs 16+. Thanks for all of your input.

Posts: 13 | I've tried out both of these reels. I vote for Curado. But should I say that now only use Daiwa Luna 253 and 300....

Posts: 40 Location: Elkhorn, WI | I got a Revo Winch this summer and really like it. My only complaint is that the 4.6 gear ratio is really slow. It seems like the effort you save is lost by having to crank faster to burn the big bucktails. Not complaining though, I knew that going in. There's got to be tradeoffs. Too bad they don't build one with the torque of the winch and the speed of the 6.4.

Posts: 222 Location: c.wis | toro 60 hs is great for everything but big blades pulls smaller blade perfect- pair it with your favorite 8+' rod and your good to go! Edited by eric001 8/14/2010 6:56 PM

Posts: 64 | I have a 300 , the 60 winch. and the regular toro, The 300 does not do well with big blades, imo the winch is the best big blade reel I have used, the speed is slow on the winch but it does what I need it to do with the double 10's and 13's. I bought the other revo toro for burning, havent tried it yet, but I have a feeling it will do just fine. I know the guys at the baystore in the angle love them...
