| I tie a "Double Uni-Knot".
If you know how to tie a Uni-Knot, you know how easy it is to tie and how strong it is. Well tie a Uni-Knot but double the line going through eye of the swivel, or what ever you are tying to. You wind up with a double line through the eye and a double line wrapped around a double line when it's all snugged up. No slipping and lots of bulk in the knot to make it super strong.
I've seen one diagrammed, maybe I'll have to shoot a video of how to tie it.

Location: Hugo, MN | Are you tying braid directly to flourocarbon or to a swivel? I've used the Trilene not for almost every type of line for every species. It's a good strong knot and is easy to cinch down. You can't go wrong with a Palomar or Power knot either. If you're tying directly to the flourocarbon the Double Uni-Knot works well. When fishing at night people often reel up too far and the swivel damages their rod tip. To avoid this you would tie directly to the flourocarbon. This way you just feel a bump if you reel up too far, but no damage is done to the tip. Steve Herbeck is a big fan of this method as it allows you to use a longer leader without making casting difficult.
