Posts: 162 Location: Bemidji, MN | You guys who are making/ selling bucktails. Has anyone come up with a good box to transport large quantities around in, and have them be visible for display? I have outgrown the 5-gallon bucket, which inevitably flips over in the back of the truck leaving me with a tangled mess.

Posts: 56 | Just finished a very inexpensive bucktail box. Used a 15 gallon flip-top tote $5.49,3 hardwood square dowels 1/2"x36" $3, 1/2" cup hooks (100) $4.96. Assembly to your discression. (see photos) I used about 32 of the cup hooks and cut the hook end to make it easier to hang the bucktails. Also decided it needed something to keep the bucktails from bouncing off. So I added hinged round dowels ~$8. Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | Dutchman, I like it! Can you take another close up pic of one of the ends? Just seeing how you secured teh dowels to the edges as well as the hook arrangment to hang the lures. Thanks, James

Posts: 162 Location: Bemidji, MN | Yeah, I like it, its hard to see from the pics how the dowels are secured though. Are they just hangign from the inner lip of the box?

Posts: 56 | I bought the box at menards. It has an inner lip so the outer two dowels were gorrilla glued and screwed (don't forget the pilot hole). The middle dowel was notched out as was the container, this was for clearance to close the lid. Then it was screwed in place. I'll send more photo's when I'm home tonight! Glad I can contribute! Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | Dutchman, That box is what I need to show my new DOMINATRIX lures off to retailers. I have been wondering what to do as I will have about 30 different variations of the lure. Thanks for sharing!!!! You may get another bucktail for your collection James

Posts: 56 | More photos of the bucktail box. The spacing of hooks was arbitrary. Nine down each side. Then I alternated the middle bracket from side to side. I also made a simple big bait box bolting two plano 3730's then found a perfect handle to bolt on top. Great for 10" suicks or even home made 12" suick like baits. Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | That helps a LOT! Love that suick box too! Suicks are my favorite bait. My biggest fish are on Suicks! I think I have over 20, 9 and 10 inch models alone.
