Posts: 94 | I have been useing the Pete Maina 8 ft. rod combo from Bass Pro Shop and have found it a good setup for the money. It handles bull dawgs, weagles and other heavy baits without to much trouble. Chris | ||

Posts: 476 Location: St. John, Indiana | hotlanta.........wow i just looked at the bass pro bible.......and they have 6 rods that are rated up tp 8 ounces..how is that 8 footer you mentioned, is it a broom stick through out the blank or does it have a parabolic bend ? | ||

Posts: 2378 | 8' H Fig Rig Extreme Series $90 Best big bait rod I have used. Pounders, Mag Treats, Mag Dawgs, handles them all without a problem. That St Croix is one awesome rod too...held one at Thornes the other day. needs a little longer and fatter handle IMO. | ||

Posts: 476 Location: St. John, Indiana | i bought the shimano crucial 8' swim bait rod. it doesn't have a lure weight on the rod, it's rated for swimbaits 8"-16" retails for $150, thorne bros. gave it to me for $125. | ||
