| I just saw a new offering from Crestliner on their website. It's a "Muskie Edition" of the 1850 FishHawk. A little different layout, 55" livewell, extended casting deck, built in lure hanger box. Sounds interesting. Anyody seen one up close and personal, yet? Shep | |||

| I thought they were going to keep that queit!!!!!! DAMN! | |||

| Shep, Where did you see this on their website? I'm not finding it. Also, I continue to get their 2001 info on their site. I've yet to see it with any 2002 information. Do they have a newer, updated site that I don't know about? | |||

| OK, I saw the boat up close and personal at the Milwaukee Sport show. Here's my impressions. The boat is basically a 1850 Fish Hawk DC. It has a larger 55" livewell in front and the Recirc system. The port side rod locker has a rod management system with 5 rod tip tubes. The "extended" front casting deck just comes back between the consoles and has a hinged cover over the hanging bait storage. Depth of the box is about 13". It says "MUSKIE EDITION" above the Crestliner logo on the sides. The price wasn't really much more than the regular 1850 with the added port side console. I think it was a show special price. $18,175 with a Merc 115 4-Stroke, $20,435 with a 135 Opti or 150EFI. Tennesee Bunk trailer with removeable tongue. Add $600 for a Min Kota Power Drive and a X-71 on the console. For the show, they are throwing in the custom snap cover, and a couple shirts and hats. It's a nice try, but I really think they should have worked the features of the CVX into it. There's less storage in front. The deck is at least 3 inches lower, so they couldn't add the extra storeage. The rear deck is the same as the 1850, and has the same big humpy things on the back sides sticking out. I think they should have extended the rear deck forward and added more storage. And lose thos humpy things on the sides. The thing I disliked the most is they eliminated the battery storage in the floor between the consoles when they put in the bait box. Now you have to use up valuable storage in the front for your trolling motor battery(s). Talked to the rep, and he said they will improve it over time. I offered to take one off their hands for the year. Give me some carpet, and decking, and I'll come up with some ideas![:praise:] He seemed upset that they didn't give the CVX much time to take off. Nice guy. He seemed very interested in my thoughts about the boat. Well, that's it. Nice start, but it needs some work. I'm sure they'll get it righter in the future. Shep | |||

| Shep, That's about the only thing that I am disapointed in with the Muskie Edition, that they had to move the trolling motor batteries up in the bow to make room for the tackle storage. Should still be enough storage in the bow though. Should still be a sweet rig to fish out of.[] With the "big humpy things", there is still more room than if it had the WIDE gunnels all the way around. [;)] Plus the humpy things are gonna make the PERFECT place to mount my speakers for the CD player.[;)] | |||
