until we say it's over...

after i took care of a doctor's appointment this morning, MskyHnr (Brad Nelson) and i got out for awhile and did some trolling, a bit of casting, and a lot of reminiscing about the past season.

we managed to put these two in the boat and got to smoke a couple celebratory cigars.
great way to enjoy closing day.

sleep tight, muskies...and grow big. see you in 5 months!

Way to go guys, nice muskies. I had an urgent email from work I had to deal with, so I didn't get up to Okauchee until this afternoon and fished for a couple of hours. Casting, soaking suckers, trolling, and jigging, NADA! Two other boats out, but didn't see anyone catch anything. The start of my WI season came in like a lion with my biggest WI fish this year and went out like a lamb with nothing

I noticed that on the way home yesterday. Lake X iced over, Crescent iced over and even the shores of the river are making ice pretty good.

Crappies, Gills and Perch in about 3 weeks Steve?

It's over here.....Iced up tight on George for several days. I'd bet ice fishing is safe many places right now. It's 4 degrees out, and making ice!

I tried yesterday afternoon. About 6" of wet snow on the ramp - could have dropped the boat in, but getting it back out would have been a problem. Snow turned from fluff to 'snowpacked and slippery' right under my tires. And temperature was slowly dropping - would have been ice in a couple of hours. Went to Wal-Mart and bought some chains - gonna give it another go this afternoon.
