Fish Cedar this past July. It was cold, and weather was not ideal. Fish were not that hot. Saw some real decent fish. Dusk seemed to produce the most action.

Caught one decent fish. It was 52" and nearing 40 Pounds. Not bad for a July fish. Here is a pic:

I fished it a couple times traveling on 'big wind' days from Wabigoon. We boated a 51 and one a bit smaller on topwater. It was in July, about 12 years ago, but I assume the lake hasn't changed much since then.

I fished there during late August of 2003. I boated three fish over forty with the biggest being 461/2, pretty fish. Saw several other fish in that size structure. Did not see any fish over fifty.

I have been fishing cedar lake in ontario since 1979. At least once and many times twice a year. love the lake.

Great musky fishery Last trip boated 44" and 39.5" during some of the crappiest weather I had experienced in many years.
I have caught a ton of muskies on West side of Cedar mostly. East side has given up a few over the years, but nothing like the west side. Haven't bagged the 50" plus yet though. Usually fish a lot for muskie, but also love the tremendous Walleye fishing it offers,as well as the world class smallmouth fishing. Normally during a 10 day span, I will usually hook up with at least 2-3 northerns over 20lbs as well. Great lake!!!!!!!!! If you would like I would be happy to mark up a map of the lake with some great locations where I have had success with muskies.

Also if you make the trip that far north, please take the opportunity to drive back to Ord lake (off of April road on the main highway) I had the experience with my son back in 93 to assist his muskie which was well over 50 and closer to 55" This lake holds some real treasures for muskies. So if you go that far north go a little east and hit Ord lake as well.

I have stayed at just about every location on Cedar, and for most my years there stayed at Wogenstahl's resort on the West side South end. best bait and best accomodations. They sold this past year, and don't know much about the new owners. Cedar point is a good place as well.

If you would like any more info please send me an email at [email protected]

We stayed at Cedar Lake Lodge. Jerry and Ellie's. We loved the resort. Very clean cabins, really nice. Good fish fry every week too.

That fish was close to Times Square. I can give you details in an email. Fish was very slow during our '04 July Full Moon trip. Everyone seemed to agree. I can image having an incredible trip if the weather was right.

If you fish Times Square at dusk, look for a guy in a Crestliner that looks like a cross between Jerry Garcia/Chewbacka/Santa Claus. His name is Dank. He's got the low down on the lake at all times.

Fish Perrault for a few hours. Didn't see much. Heard of some tankers in there though.

Peace.

I will mark a map up for you and scan it in and send it to your address. I won't be able to do it for about 2 weeks as I will be in Europe over the next couple weeks. or at least that's the schedule. If I don't go I will get it out sooner to you. Anyway

Good fishin...

I'm going to cedar lake the third week of July this year. I've heard alot about it. Is this an OK time to see big fish. I fish exclusivily for Muskies and fish LOTW every Septemper. Can you give me any ideas on locations (weeds vs rocks etc) and lures sellection primarily colors (Top Water vs Bucktails vs Crank Baits vs Jerks) to fish this time of year? I have had good success in the southern muskie waters during the first of August just wanted to try somewhere different. I heard that the lake is a little darker water than some of the clear lakes located close by. Any info would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks

head to little musky bay up near perrault lake there is an island there lots of weeds........good baits are bucks blacks blues and ive done well on phantoms reefhawgs and the walk the dog style topwater baits work well..........also check out time square before dark

weeds seem to be the key in this lake.........try fishing deeper weed edges like 13-16 feet with deeper water close by......let me know how it goes.........i leave july 30th for cedar gettin pumped
