I was just wondering if anyone runs one of these rigs.  I fished out of my cousins 618 console for a weekend and really liked it alot, and now know that I'm pretty sure I want to go with that type of rig.  I was wondering if the tiller model comes with the rear deck, and the other amenities of the console model.  If you want to email me personally that would be fine as with fishing and hunting right now, I'm not checking the boards alot.

Thanks,

Jason D. Schillinger

I believe the 618 Tiller is a completely different hull than the 618 Console.

From what I have read on other sites is basically a 619 that has been shortened, I believe it is 18'4" with a 90" Beam...

Dont mean to step on anybody's toes, but the new 618T is 18' with an 83" beam. Its the same hull as the 618 with a different layout and a HP rating of 115 I believe. I rode in one in Fond du Lac this past summer, but didnt ask what the specs were. I just called a local Ranger dealer to confirm these specs.

I just sold my 618vs. It's a great boat to have I really enjoyed it. The boat length is 18 and it's 84" wide. The 619vs lenght is 19 and it's 94" wide. If you need to know anything about a 618 I can try to help you.

Justin, I think you got some wrong stats fella.

618......18', 83" beam
619......19'-2", 92" beam

yahh Tommy, froze my carcass off yesterday afternoon with Oneida Esox, was ok the first 2 hours but at 3:00 when the 40 MPH that was predicted hit, it got nasty.

The 618 tiller is the same size as the 618 console, although the gunnels are a touch taller.

The boat is apparently the exact layout of the proven 620 tiller, just scaled down.

I have yet to see one in person, this is via our Ranger rep. The Ranger pro staff/dealer meeting is in early Dec, but don't think I'll make it this year. Was a hoot last year as we all got to test drive the boats...hence the ordering real soon after of my rig.

The 195 Musky has a livewell that is 50" (with baffle removed).
the 195 bass is the standard livewell(37" I think)

To make room for the 50" livewell, the cooler and livewell have been flip-flopped in the back deck and the 2 large storage (still plenty large though) compartments have been shortened.

Check out rangerboats.com...shows the top views in color (i.e. livewell's and coolers)and how they are different.

A gentlemen posted on another website that his new 2004 618T was 18'4" x 90", so now I am confused...

Hopefully Ranger will throw it up on their website soon...

ok, talked to ranger:
length 18'4"
beam 7'6" (90")
depth 23"

this is the beam and depth of a 620 Tiller, just shorter.

my bad in saying it's the same dimensions (beam) of the 618 cxonsole.

the console is only 83" wide (less 7") and 20 3/4" deep (less 2")

Back to the original question.  Does the tiller have noticably higher sides when fishing out of it.  I like the dimensions of the console and wonder if the tiller is too high for me now, though the extra width is intiging.  i really need to get to a dealer and check one out for myself.  Justin, why did you go to the 619?  Was the 618 decent for trolling?

Thanks,

Jason

The 618 is a real good boat for two people. Most of the time I have three in the boat. Another thing is it didn't have enough storage for me but I have a ton of baits. Overall it's a good boat. The reason I went to a 619 is I can sell to a bigger market it can take more rough water than the 618. Sorry about being off by two inches on the boat lengths I'm glad somebody is always there to catch that stuff.
