Posts: 119 Location: Cheyenne, WY most of the year | I'll admit it, we're still skunked. Mille lacs hasn't given up much, and we've been out probably 35 times this summer. We're working the West side. Just had the first topwater bite a few days back, one fish on but broke the lure, and maybe 15 total follows. Working the bays, and trying to find weeds. Boat contol has been tough without a trolling motor. I've been watching/reading as much as I can, but no luck. I'm asking for some help (Pm is fine) but getting pretty discouraged. Thanks in advance Edited by SummerSchool 8/3/2017 5:28 PM

Posts: 221 | If I was in your situation i'd be trying to learn everything I can about trolling ML. Your trolling chances will be better than just trying to set up drifts on structure.

Posts: 3163 | Your on a tough body of water to start with,, Maybe try cedar lake north of mile lacs for a break and a higher stocked population,,nice very pretty lake. Why did you leave Wyoming and all that wonderful trout fishing.

Posts: 612 | My luck goes in streaks all the time, that's just fishing. Put your time in and enjoy being out on the lake, pay attention to the little things and as luck would have it you'll get some fish. Best of luck! Edited by NPike 8/3/2017 6:43 PM

Posts: 43 | You could try focusing on key low light periods - early morning, evening, night or even better - key low light periods that also intersect with a moon rise or moon set.

Posts: 1828 | I must be missing the back story - 35 outings on Mille Lacs and 15 total follows? I'd be on new water after day 5.

Posts: 1220 | I also have a cabin on a lake that is producing at a pretty sorry rate. My boat is on the trailer and I fish other lakes. I'm not going back on the lake except for kayak to get some exercise. Don't be stubborn, catch fish where they are.
