| I know everyone has their opinions so let me have it. I'm looking to get a new reel that will handle just about anything, but esp. pulling double 10's. I currently have Abu 6500 but would like something a little more low profile. I'd rather not spend more than $200 so if you have any suggestions that would be great. The beast and such are out of the equation, too much $. The Diawa 400's are pushing the $ as well, but could be an option. Thanks in advance.

| I have 6500 series Abu's and put power handles on two of them to pull mag 10's. Actually bent the shaft on one from the stress.
Have since purchased Toro S and what a difference. Amazon has them for $194 with free shipping.

| I went with the Diawa 400 PWR with power handle. Got it on ebay for $170. I like the 5.1 ratio as I'm not into burning excessively but fish slower than most. I'll post a review once I start using it. I'm hoping it is easier to palm than my Abu 6500's and easier to bring in the 10's as well. Thanks for the info guys. |

This is the reel I use I like it a lot but I took off the power Handel and put a paddle Handel on it I just couldn't get use to the power Handel. I'm sure you will like it. |

This is the reel I use I like it a lot but I took off the power Handel and put a paddle Handel on it I just couldn't get use to the power Handel. I'm sure you will like it.
Does the paddle handle come with the reel, and if not, where did you buy it from? |

No it does not come with the reel I put a want to buy ad in the buy sell trade section and some one sold me one for $20. I'm sure you could also buy from Diawa just call and ask for a replacement paddle Handel for a Lexa 400. Only the higher gear ratio reels come with a paddle handle. |

| Tried out the Daiwa this evening for about 4 hours...WOW, is it nice! It's like night and day to bring in those 10's compared to a 6500 with a power handle. My only complaint is that it isn't super easy to palm the reel. I'm 6'4" and so my hands aren't small but I still had a hard time finding a perfect position for my hand. I eventually found one that was pretty good but it was kind of awkward and probably will be until I get used to it. Overall, great reel, casts like a dream too. Really like it, got it spooled with 80lb power pro. |
