Last night I had a single long warning beep about 30 seconds after I fired up my 225 motor. It lasted about 10 seconds and never came back on. Every time I moved to another spot it did the same sequence.

Anyone have any input on what it might be?
I'm at work and have guide jobs booked for next 13 days. Zero time to take it in. Worried. Tonight is my only night off after work to try and figure out what it is.

Voltage is 13 + on starter battery.
Low oil was 3 beeps on my old 225 OPTI but checking that first thing when I get home.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Did that first thing this morning. Also called another quality place.
Both shops are 2 to 3 weeks waiting time.

M & W takes good care of me and I know it can get in and out sooner if needed. Just looking for situations other might have had and found out what it was.

Can't do much here at work so I am reaching out to some of the muskie brothers and sisters here.

It is probably your oil pressure sensor. Seems after it runs for a bit, the beep goes off after you build pressure. It could also be your float sticking in your oil tank on the motor.

Could be a couple things. See the chart. If it's not going in Guardian mode, you shouldn't need to worry too much. But get it checked out when you can. Check the engine oil tank, the remote oil tank, water tattle tail.

How old is the motor? I replaced impellers every two years or I would get the long horn.

It's not going into Guardian mode. That's a good thing.

Thanks for the help all. It's killing me here at work wondering what it is.

Try bleeding the engine oil tank. Fill the big tank to capacity. Start your motor, and loosen the oil cap on the top of the engine, have a rag ready. The INSTANT oil begins to flow out of the cap, seal it back up. That may cure the issue.

Steve that is a common issue. I fill the tank then fill the little tank in engine. Some people will forget to bleed the oil into the engine tank by venting that cap. The sensor is almost all the way up to the top of that little tank in the engine. Great advice!!!

I will check the oil level and impeller output when I get home. I was told that it could be oil or water impeller issue. Since it happens only a minute after start up I am leaning towards low oil. My old OPTI would beep 3 times when the oil was low. Hoping this new motor is just a single warning beep for low oil.

Thanks everyone for the input. Love this website!!!

Checked the oil reservoirs and both were low. Filled the main one in the boat and topped off the one in the motor.
Weird how my last Mercury 225 had 3 warning beeps for low oil. This one just has one about 6 seconds long after I start it up. Glad it was just the oil.
