Location: MN | Here are two lakes with muskies. This is from the Iowa DNR fishing reports:
Three Mile Lake
Lake access is good. Crappie - Fair: Crappies up to 10 inches have been caught on minnows and small jigs along the roadbed and near flooded timber. Walleye - Slow: Walleyes are being caught on jigs along the dam in the evenings.
Clear Lake
Open water; surface temp is 42 degrees. Channel Catfish - Fair: Catfish can be caught on the warmer days with cutbait or minnows. Fish the windy side of the lake. Walleye - Slow: Some wader fisherman are catching a few walleyes with jigs and minnows.

Clear Lake
Surface temperature is 48-50 degrees. Channel Catfish - Fair: Catfish can be caught on the warmer days with cutbait or minnows. Look for the windy side of the lake. Crappie - Good: Looks like crappies are biting in the harborages on the north shore. Walleye - Good: Some wader fisherman are catching walleyes near the outlet with a 1/16 ounce lead head jig and minnow. Action has been best after dark, later than some anglers expect, with a few anglers catching their limits. A few walleyes have been caught on the little lake with lead head and minnow jigged on bottom. Yellow Bass - Fair: Some yellows have been caught on the little lake with small artificials. Fish in the shallows on warm days with a slight breeze or try deeper near the boat ramps. |

| I have made several trips to Three Mile this year. Had one ski on and lost her, two other follows. I struggle in the early spring so I'm sure someone has caught one already! I live 10 miles away so no real urgency to fish everyday for ski's. Been busy chasing those #*^@ green carp lately. |

| Looking for pointers on Iowa lakes. Never fished skis in Iowa. Maybe looking for any musky before I worry about sizes.
Any of the lakes stand out more than the others |

| A few fish have been caught at 3 mile in the last week. Not very close to waterloo. Haven't heard anything about Palo |

Location: Eagle Grove, Iowa | If I lived in Waterloo I would be fishing pleasant creek witch is the closest to you. It is a good lake early in the year before water temps get high and is small and easy to learn. It does recieve alot of pressure but with learning that g may not be a bad thing pay attention.If you want to drive further check out clear lake it is probably the best lake in Iowa for muskies and is fishable most of the year unless it gets really hot in summer.80 degree water temps and up are not recommended. | Hi guys
I fished Pleasant Lake here in Iowa. Managed a 37" and a 27" in 2 days of fishing.
Not bad for my first times on the lake. Any ideas for the future, the lake seems to be void of fish. I did not mark much of anything. Lots of contours but very little actual structure. Any suggestions |
