Posts: 1769 Location: Algonquin, ILL | Those of you who live in the Chicago area may already know this. The Animal convicted last week of the Murder of my niece Shannon has been sentenced to DEATH, This makes him the first animal back on death row in Illinois since Gov. Ryan commuted all 162 animals a few weeks ago, hopefully he will also be the first one off death row

I worry about my daughters continually and am glad you saw it through to the end so this animal wont harm another innocent. God Bless and keep your family.

| Ralph, I think VA. ranks behind only Texas in capital punishment convictions that are carried out; I personally hate to see a life taken, but when a peep is found guilty, charged and sentenced for the related crime, then the punishment should "fit the crime". Actions that we all take have a consequence, whether it be good or bad, and we alone are responsible for what we do. There are though special cases when a person is mentally unstable in relationship to their ability to reason due to disease, retardation etc, and the courts take that into consideration. But if a crime is committed resulting from alcohol/drug intake, theft, or just plain cruelty, and results in a life taken, then the judicial system here is for the most part steadfast... ***There is a guy now that is up for parole for a series of child molestations that occured over 30 yrs ago...he has stated that if freed, he wants to move to this area... I grew up w/ our state rep. and saw him last week. He is trying to get additional funding to keep these freaks behind bars, and I told him I was concerned that if this person moved here there was a good chance he would strike again, as an article on him indicated that fact. The rep. told me he had received numerous phone calls/e-mails warning him that the convicted person would more than likely end up "not breathing"; he agreed and is doing everything possible to create laws to keep this peeps incarcerated. Time to start trying the criminals, and not the victims... Edited by Sponge 2/27/2003 9:48 AM | |||

Posts: 1769 Location: Algonquin, ILL | Thanks Guys your support is really appreciated, Now that this is over I can give you some details. On June 11, 2001 this animal broke into Shannon's apt while she was sleeping he sneaked into her bedroom where he tried to rape her but she fought back in what the police called a tremendous battle due to the amount of damage done to the furniture and other items in the room from there the fight continued into a hallway and then into the bathroom, it was in the bathroom where the animal stuffed a washcloth 4 inches down her throat and then manually choked her until she was dead. After that the animal carried her body into the front room and laid her on the floor he then went into the kitchen and got a knife with the knife he cut three deep lateral cuts across her back from side to side, he then proceeded to sexually assult her anus and genitals with the knife, he then turned her over and made a cut deep enough to expose her internal organs from her between her breast all the way down to her genitals. This is they way he left her for her room mate to find. During Shannon's battle for her life the animal lost his credit card that is how the police linked him also during the fight she scratched him and got his DNA under her figernails she got the proof and evidence that the police needed, also during the investigations the evidence Shannon provided linked this animal to at lest one other murder and at least three rapes in the area. The Defense Lawyers claimed that the animal should not be blamed for this crime because he came from a broken family lacking in parental guidence and had alcohol and drug abuse problems so the jury should so mercy. Fortunatly the jury did not but this and found him guilty on all charges the sentence is as follows 1st Degree Murder: Death by lethal injection May 5th 2003 Home Invasion: 60 years no Parole Criminal Sexual Assult: 60 years no Parole Hopefully the actions of this wonderfull jury will set a trend for other juries to follow, These animals need to take resposability for thier actions

| I have seen some BAD stuff wound wise, but after reading this I still find it hard someone could do something this bad...there really are no words to describe it. This I know, there is NO EXCUSE for this type of crime, regardless of how bad a home someone came from; may the injection be done THAT DAY... | |||
