I was thinking about heading to Pewaukee this Sunday. I have never fished the lake in the Fall. Anyone have any recent reports? Are suckers available at Smokeys?

Thanks,

Joe

The sucker bite has been pretty good on Pewaukee. This past Saturday, the Ironman tournament had 16 boats. There were 10 fish caught, with three teams doubling. Biggest fish were 40".

Smokey's still has suckers and should have them next week as well. I was out yesterday from 1-5. We only had one sucker pick-up, but we didn't get hooks into it.

If you put in a full day, I think you'll get a shot.

No doubt you will still get a shot if you put in your time. Personally this fall has been slow for me. I'm used to getting 3-5 shots in a day. Now it is more like 1-2. Strange. Maybe they will turn on this weekend with the cold snap we are experiencing now.

I think that Smokeys Musky Shop will stay open through December and does carry suckers.

Depends on the size. Small ones are $6. Little larger are $7. And I think $8 for the biggest.

We have been getting fish on both baits ans suckers. Dont forget about baits like Medussas in he late season. Fish are eating them equally as good as suckers.

Gorgeous today. While I'm at work, which is typical. Heard the weather will hit around 1PM tomorrow, though.

Tornado warnings and very high winds in November. Who'd a thought?

Yeah. Did not make it out Sunday. Looks like I will try for next weekend. It looks like it should be cold. Do you think the lake will ice over with morning temps supposed to be in the teens and a high in the 30's?

The lake is, or was near the 45 degree mark. Maybe a little higher. The lake shouldn't ice over, but I wouldn't doubt that Smokey's Muskie Shop launch will have morning skim ice.

Saw it was iced once last week. One guy had put it and broke trail around 7:30ish already.

If you are worried about ice, give Smokey's a call before you come.

Smokey's launch had a little skim ice on it this morning. Again, one person (who is on this website) managed to break trail.

West end launch shouldn't have ice...
