Does anyone else just love the smell of a Muskie?

It's quite distinct compared to other fishes i.m.o.

That's something I will never understand... You can identify any freshwater fish by the smell. But if you fish saltwater, they all smell the same. Why does a smallmouth smell different than a largemouth? Why does a muskie smell different than a pike? They all swim in the same water and eat pretty much the same things.

But yeah, there's not many better smells than muskie slime in the net.

ive handled small pike that smelled worse than bigger muskie....i think it more depends on the day and the amount you handle them.

sometimes bass smell the worse to me idk why
