Location: Eastern Ontario | What are the little yellow boxes with the plus sign in them they occur in pairs. The only area I have seen them is in the Thousand Islands and they are not on the Canadian paper charts? |

Location: Green Bay, WI | I am not sure of the symbol you're speaking about, but the last I read, Navionics uses standard NOAA symbols. So you might have luck searching their chart legend guide for here:

Location: Eastern Ontario | Thanks Tom that seems to be the same as the canadian Chart #1 ( I guess charts must be an international thing to be understood by people from all over the world) in any case the symbol is not there.

Location: Green Bay, WI | Can you place the cursor over those symbols, and hit "Enter" for more information, maybe? I wonder if there's an 'i' in the center of that box, and the '+' indicates that there might be more information?
If the NOAA charts do not show those symbols in the legend, then maybe it's because there aren't NOAA symbols. They might indicate something as simple as that there is more information available at each spot...

Location: Eastern Ontario | Acording to the paper chart there are rocks in those locations but most are deep enough to not be a hazzard to any of our boats. I would rather not have the contour lines blocked out by the yellow boxes and just have the small transparent symbol That the Canadian or NOAA charts use. (some are 25 feet down )

Heh, better that than one the water not watching where you're going...at least until you get the basics down. Simulators are an incredible tool, but it's even better when you can practice on the exact hardware you'll have in the field.

Location: Eastern Ontario | Judging from the paper chart they seem to be underwater rocks of unknown depth. Why they use a different symbol than Fisheries & Oceans Canada or NOAA then use the standard symbols for rock awash and rock which covers and uncovers is anybodys guess. |

Location: Eastern Ontario | I put the chip in my lowrance XOG which normally resides in my truck but has a touch screen. When I tap on these icons they pop up( Point of Intrest Wreck Navionics Specific ) but on my depthfinder LCX I cant figure out how to bring them up OR GET RID OF THEM they clutter up the screen because around the 40 acre there are so many most are not on the paper chart and are not a navigation hazzard |
