Hello everybody, yesterday a friend of mine and I had the priveledge to fish with Musky Guide Mike Hulbert. We started our day at 5 a.m. had a 3 hour break and finished up at 10:30 last night. Although the fish didn't cooperate like we would have hoped we did boat a 41" and saw a handful of other fish including a obese 52" it was a fun, entertaining and a informative day on the water.

When you plan your next guided trip contact Mike Hulbert you won't be dissapointed.

Fished with Mike before and when you book a full day with him that's what you get. He puts his time in and gives you all the opportunities possible to catch fish but it's up to you to catch them. He's always networking with other guides throughout the day trying to get on that days pattern faster. He also spends most of the trip during "prime" times meaning mornings and evenings. Nothing worse to me than paying a full days trip just to meet the guide around 7am and say good bye at 3pm. Feels like you just got started especially on waters like Mille Lacs. Nothing wrong with fishing with Mike. Try it sometime.

I haven't heard about or met anyone who knows muskies better than Mike. There is something to be said for a dedicated guide that spends most every day on the water. No other guide i would rather be in the boat with!

I remember crossing paths with Mike last summer only to look back and see him or his client boat a couple of fish on the same shoreline. I wouldn't mind learning a thing or two from him.

You have to admit the guy has earned his reputation in a hurry. Guiding, writing and taping flashlights to net handles. I think he was a high school teacher about 10 years ago.

It is also possible that Mike pushed his 2 brothers into the closet when they were handing out smarts at the Hulbert house. Ha ha!

He still is a teacher and guides until 9PM after teaching all day during the spring and fall. The guy's a freak of nature. I spent an afternoon on Webster last spring and I saw more muskies in a 5 hour trip than I could imagine. The guy knows his stuff and is well worth the money.

Love the hours that Hulbert puts in on the water with you, Fishing early and very late or whenever the fish are hitting their windows he will be out there. Lots of knowledge and lots of Huge fish that have been encountered on the water the past fours years. Worth every penny!

Glad you enjoyed your trip! Hope we can do it again!!!

Appreciate all the kind words for sure! I hung up the teaching gig...and will be guiding full time now so anybody looking for a fall giant be sure to get a hold of me to set something up!!! Teaching was getting in the way of my fishing time and I couldn't have that!!!! LOL

Thanks again for fishing with me and hope to hear from you soon!

I have fished with Mike several times and always felt I got my moneys worth and then some. Also caught my personal best with him.

It was a trip that I and another guy PURCHASED on a silent auction at our local Muskies Inc chapter fundraiser. Mike donated the trip to our club to help raise money for future musky stocking etc. I will reiterate it was a great time and I would do it again.
