| Maybe I should have taken Wisconsin into consideration because the size of the fish there is growing every year. I've seen some real changes over the last few years, and am considering taking a trip up there soon. I like the Green Bay area because it's a big body of water, and the fish are so huge. There are real monsters swimming around there, and they're only going to get bigger. Since I haven't seen the area for myself, I don't know if there's a ton of fishing pressure, but would think that wouldn't matter because of the size of area.
What are your thoughts about the biggest Musky to be caught in 2011? |

Location: Delavan, WI | True that Green Bay has big fish, but if you have not been there it isnt what most people think it would be - its not too scenic and its mainly a troll bite- there are some spots to be cast, but very few and far between- but well worth exploring in my opinion- got my pb there of 53" last fall - main thing you have to be careful is there are a lot of shallow spots you can get your boat grounded on- hire a guide if you ve never been there - many good ones are available - you can do a search on this site to find one that suits yout particular need as it was discussed before

| why do you think they are only going to get bigger in there than what they have been? it's not like people are catching them all the time in there and keeping all of them it's not a high density fishery, I think the numbers are low enough where the size is'nt a issue. record wont be from green bay anyway, it will be the big v or mille lacs or canada |

| just that there size now would be no different than later, there not over populated and are well fed so why would there size change! |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The general consensus is the Bay of Green Bay stocked muskies haven't yet reached full potential which is why there's a strong effort underway to acquire a 54" limit.
That in no way diminishes the MN muskies in Mille Lacs or Vermilion, as it's also possible those populations have not yet reached full potential.

Location: Hopefully on the water | Guest, I wish that was the case for myself of being well fed and size not changing. Yes Green Bay fish are well fed and the numbers can be low in density but there are fish out there that have not seen a bait. With the size of Mille Lacs and Vermillion there are probably fish in that same situation that haven't seen baits yet. If you have a good forage base the lake you are fishing can produce large fish. As far as fish being taken out of there (the Bay, yes there has been fish taken out the last couple of years and there has been fish found floating dead for many different reasons. Yes there is a push for the 54" limit to see the true potential of what this body of water can do and protect the fish that are being taken out or mishandled. |

Location: SE Wisconsin | There have been 50+ lb fish caught and released by walleye fisherman on the Bay of Green Bay and in the River before the musky season opened annually. While I have little interest in fishing the Bay for scenery sake, the possibility of the new record fish coming from there in the next 10 years is immense. |

| Trolling is prohibited on the Chippewa Flowage, so I hope that's not how fish are getting caught up there. I fish that flowage each year and it definitely has potential, not to mention you get a true Outdoors feeling on those lakes since you don't see houses on every shoreline. |
