Have you checked Chad Cain's web site? There is a lot of information there.

Too bad he won't tell you anything cuts into his guide business.

I haven't been over since 11/6. Lake was just post turnover then. Water temps in the mid 50s. If I was going over, my lineup would be magdawgs or tubes, mag nutbuster, a glidebait, and probably a suick. I'd start with main lake points and work into some timber. Lake was a couple of feet low and I don't think there's been much rain since then. Also, there are always fish swimming around the marina.

Bite has been hit or miss. Was out saturday with a large group. Only two small fish boated, one small fish lost. Only 1 fish of any size was reported and it was lost at boatside.

Guest, maybe he wouldn't tell you anything because of your attitude. He has never withheld information from my fishing partners or I.

A couple of us have fished with Chad on a couple occasions on Kincaid and Big V (when he was on Vermillion). Each and everytime we have fished with him he has been informational and also put us on a ton of fish. (24 in the bag in 2 days) Thus we have become very good friends throughout the years. I have had friends call him in the past and he has lead them to success. The only thing he has ever asked is that if you see him on a particular spot, find a different one. Which holds true for most muskie fishermen respect level, unless the spot is very large, i.e. portage bay on Leech Lake. In closing (and my last reply) I and several others I know have paid for Chad's guide service, not only to shorten our learning curve on some of the lakes he guides on, but he is truly fun to fish with! Hiring Chad as a guide has nothing to do with getting information about Lake Kincaid, there are several people that reply on his website about what they are seeing or have seen rather frequently. There is only one way to actually know what the pattern is on any given day, it's fall fishing, it changes from day to day!
Just get on the lake and fish!

Annnny ways...........Was out last Thursday through Sunday. Fishing was really tough. Matt got a little one out of the back of the boat Thursday night. Fished with my pops on Friday, he got a thrity four. Then I got a 38 on Saturday, spent a half day out there and Sunday...nada! Didn't see any other fish! Had a little time off this week and went bass fishing on egypt haha.
Oh and Kyle....why don't you just tell him to bring every lure he owns and fish the whole lake
I'll be on the water monday and tuesday, i'll keep ya posted.

chads always been willing to answer any ?'s I've had for him, I do notice he divulges more info in person if I see him at the launch r on the water and that makes sense rite? Truth is it's not like other parts of musky country where there's other lakes to fish so any pressure let alone pressure from an educated angler is directly impacting his and his clients chances. I made the same post on his site n he replied with some answers for me, I no if I guided and was only able to guide one lake I would keep patterns and migrations to myself aswell.

You should check out Scott Donovan. He is a guide on Kincaid and is an awesome fisherman.

You guys are right on. Chad is always more than generous with fishing information, almost surprisingly generous considering all the boats that watch where he fishes and what he is throwing. KinKaid is not a huge lake and it is very pressured. Fishing should be good this weekend.....
