| i love fishin for muskies dont it just pee you off when you lose a favorite lure i just bought some wire leaders put on my new lure cast it out and my lure crused threw the darkness in the middle of the night cause the end of my new leader broke of were it was connected to the wire leader the clamps gotta be on my lure cause it sure wasnt on my leader  |

Location: Northern Wisconsin | yea, don't skimp out on leaders or anything musky-wise, and stop whining about loosing a lure, I lost a lure and a possible 50 due to a failed leader lol |

I have a box full of leaders from over time that right out of the package either pulled apart or were even missing the crimps! We have allot better equipment these days, but to answer the question YES, it does Tee a guy off to lose a bait or a fish for lack of quality components. No matter what the component is, if you can pinpoint a failure it bites. The rest is just the magic of Muskies. |

Location: oswego, il | Westhor, sucks to lose a lure for sure. Stealth tackle makes good flouro and wire leaders is your going to buy one. I have been making my own flouro and wire leaders for over 10 years now. It is a less expensive way to go and they are easy to make. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | Make your own. That way if it breaks the only person to bame is yourself. I finally did this a few years ago after loosing bait or fish and wanted to give it a run myself. It is easy and affordable to do plus it is fun and pride in making your own. The wire ones are easy to make. This winter will be playing around with the floro made by myself. The stealth leaders are very good choice if you don't want to make the floro yourself. To me any steel wire leader should not have a crimp on it. Plus rid the snapps ad go with a loop tag end on the wire leaders and split ring them with the split rings on all your baits. |

| I picked up some Spro leaders last night for the fall bite. I got some single strand in 100 lb test and 12"s. No more cheapies for me.

Location: Yahara River Chain | Hands down the very best wire leaders are made by Leaders & Lures by Gene Seuring in Rockford Il. They will last and last and will twist but not kink. Doug Johnson and Frank Walsh have each caught over 50 muskie on just one leader (not to mention the hundreds of pike). Here in Madison I get them at Dorn's @ Midvale and I know you can get them at Smokey's in Milw as well. |

Location: Davenport, IA | I've been making my own leaders for a long time and have never had one break on a fish. I have had one break when snagged but that was 7 years ago. When you make them yourself you know you can trust them as long as you buy quality components. |

| stay away from Tsunami brand snaps and or swivels. I got some off ebay, tied my first leader and they pulled apart at the barrel before the knot got tight, supposed to be 50 lb test.  |

II have had one break when snagged but that was 7 years ago.
Frank Walsh lodge that one Leader & Lure leader he caught 50 muskies on in the rock while last fall trolling on LOTW. Had to yank like heck to get it out, but did. The leader was unusable after that, but after using it most of a season, I'd say he get the best out of it and well worth the few pennies more that it costs. |
