| thinking of getting one of these built for cowgirls. Most rods I have used including several custom have loaded up to much on fast figure 8 with double 10's. I have both g-loomis steel 20 and 25s and they cast and retrieve DCG great but both load up on fast figure 8s. Looking for any info.

Location: Contrarian Island | sling blade will load too much on a fast figure 8 as well...it is not the best rod for 10s at speed imo..i have one and only throw blades at nite w it...
I use an old Diamondback (pre cortland) blank that was 9' that I cut 3" off the tip so it doesn't load ....perfect rod... not sure about the predator h though |

| i've never used the slingblade or the predator but for a couple seasons now i've been using the croix legend 8'6" big dawg rod for db 10's and pretty much everything else. it may leave just a bit to be desired when casting the lighter weight db 10's but loads very little in the 8 which is a good thing as far as i am concerned... |

| For reference, the Predator XH (might be the H, but I think it's the XH) falls in between the Sling Blade & the Bid Dawg, i.e. the Predator has a stiffer tip then the S/B. Frankie could chime in on this...

Location: Twin Cities | I'd go for the XH or get the H cut down a little on the tip to give it more backbone. The cut off tip can be made up on the butt section to still give 9 foot+ length. It depends on if it's going to be an "all around" blade rod or something strictly for bigger blades and fishing faster... |

Location: Iowa Great Lakes | I have the H Predator and works well untill you need the speed, my Tackle Industries XH on the other hand wont load and casts as good as my predator. Not going to get rid of my $350 Predator but find I use the $100 TI rod as much or more. |

Location: Oshkosh | I have both the Slingblade and the Big Dawg. I also think that the Slingblade loads up to much in the eight. I love the Big Dawg for big blades. It works great for this application plus is awesome for soft plastics.

Location: On my favorite lake! | I bought the big dawg instead of the slingblade. I too thought it loaded too much. I think the rod has more capabilities if you only want one rod also. |
