Subject: Musky or Pike?

Here is a picture of a fish my girlfriend caught last weekend. When she pulled it out I thought it looked different. We were west of Ear Falls Ontario Canada in small little lake. Is this a Pike or Musky type.

It's a pike, but it's definitely different looking.

It's a silver pike. Little different color than the ones we get down here though.

Almost looks blue, like a blue walleye.

I caught some that had that color on a fly in trip to a lake in Northeast Ontario. They are a strain of pike.

Was it caught on Dixie Lake? I know Dixie has blue walleye. There is currently a study underway to try to determine if the blue walleye is due to genetics, a bacteria or some other characteristics of the water they live in.
