Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | I saw footage on the news out here in Arizona of the weekend water spout on Leech lake. No mention of injuries and/or damage. I sincerely hope there were none of either. On a lighter note, what do you guys normally throw in "post water spout" conditions? Karl

Location: Athens, Ohio | Yeah, I saw that too. Very cool. I was looking for flying muskies, figure you'd want to throw something that hangs in the air a bit? m

Posts: 8781 | Ok admit it... how many of you guys, if you saw one, would try to get close enough to it and see what happened if you casted a lure into it??

Posts: 767 Location: Ames, Iowa | These pics look like they came from Chippewa Lodge. My wife Tammy and her sister were at Pikedale, a lot closer, and got video of some of it This thing started as a thicker, dark funnel that dropped out of an ominous looking cloud. It turned lighter and thinner after it picked up the water and cooled off. The funnel fills the whole shot of the pics I've seen. I will try to get help to post those. I am 50 miles from Parkersburg- that was a typical tree filled Iowa small town- now looks like its a treeless flat plain. Incredible power in these storms.

Posts: 233 Location: Iowa | Probably 12 or 13 years ago there was a water spout on Leech. I didn't see it person but somebody did get it on video. It was pretty neat. With that water spout, when it lifted it created a wave that some say was 15 or 20 tall. Was there any report of any waves or damage created by this one?
