I was curious if you guys are using 80lb or 65lb? Any insight would be great...

I tried 80 first...but it seemed a little bulky. I put on 65 and it's much better. It casts further and the spool diameter doesn't change as much on long casts, which will keep retrieve speed higher. Since the levelwind is disengaging, I think it's best to use the smaller diameter 65 lb. line, for better casting distance and fewer backlashes. Great reel, you'll enjoy it.

I used 50 pound last year and it worked ok but I have spooled both of mine with 65 lb courtland masterbraid this year. I think 65lb will be better than 50 and 80

I ran 80lb tuff on my jerk bait rod and 65lb tuff on my jig/bucktail rod and both reels performed great with no issues at all,i will be doing the same again this season.

No problems with 80 lb XP. I use it for jerkbaits and WTD topwater.

i use 100lb power pro the only problem with this is i only get 90 yards on the real so have to be carefull cause you can cast all the line off. i think i would go with 80lb or 65 next time. i fish alot of topwater and jerk/glide
