Posts: 1438 | I emailed a few people the end of last week but I wanted to let the rest of you know.... I am headed north!!! I put in for a transfer to Chippewa County the week of Christmas. Had talked to a bunch of friends up that way and was told that it would be 2-3 years at least and probably closer to 5 years before anyone up there retired and opened a position. Well, lo a behold, I was called with the transfer offer the third week of January. Seems they decided to add a position to Chippewa and pulled one from another county to do so. At first the wife said "No", but then after talking to our daughters, family and friends we decided to go for it. I've been married long enough to know that that decision was ultimately hers. She'd the one having to start over. We have a few minor things to do on the house but it will be listed by the end of the week. We will be moving to the Chippewa Falls area, with exact location depending on where my Mrs. finds a job. Very excited about it, can't wait to get there. I just can't believe that I'm finally getting to go. After having had to pass on other opportunities, I was starting to think that I'd never get outta here. By the way, less than an hour and a half to Hayward. #*^@, that's a day trip for me....

Posts: 1057 Location: Medford, WI | Congrats on the transfer. Not sure if you're familiar with the area up here, but I'm sure you'll like it a lot! I go to school (college) in Eau Claire, so maybe sometime in the future we can get together and fish the area. Again, congratulations and I wish the best for your family. -Jake Bucki

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | Congrats on the move. If you're into multi-species (eyes, cats, s.m.) you'll be very busy. Big whitetails too. That is a beautiful area. JS
