Nice modification on the Suick. I have something similar in orange but don't have the big eyes on it. Very nice...

Thanks James, I have a bunch of 10's I have custom painted and epoxied. The epoxy removes some of the sound quality by insulating the wood where the hook's slap. What is lost there is gained by the change of buoyancy that the weight of the epoxy has on it. Most of the ones I have painted have a "dive and right"/"dive and left" action the can't be achieved by any "walk the dog" style gliders. That action gives this bait the ability to be worked in the "vegies" like nothing else.

The "heads-up" for painting and epoxying Suicks; The hardest part is getting the epoxy to build on sharp edges. The radius around the mouth of the suick is the hardest. These edges can be sanded down somewhat for better adhesion, but I don't. I wait for the Crystal Sheen to set-up for a while and the viscosity changes. I will dab it on the edges with my brush while it turns. I also recommend throwing and tuning the front eyelet/line attachment before painting/clearcoating. Generally my eyelets get twisted between 45 and 90 degs first..

My clear coat system is as follows: mix equal parts of Crystal Sheen in bowl and mix. Add ultra-fine glitter(always). Apply heat with heat gun for about 5 secs or so to remove bubbles, wait exactly 10 mins and apply. Crystal Sheen is made by the same folks as Envirotex Lite only it sets-up at a much faster rate..............

Raze, I thought you used crystal sheen in your hair, at least it looked like it. Isn't that why Mikie kept calling you jerry lewis at the ohio show?

Cool looking bait, can you get crystal sheen at a hardware store/

Raze1,
Good to hear from you. Nice paint on that Suick! I gotta do one like that, I bet the fish in the darker water will smoke that lure.

Naw, Raze's paint jobs don't catch any fish or hold up, heck my custom grandma only has 29 muskies on it and the clearcoat is 100% intact!
