| Message Subject: Lake X report | |||
| |||
| Went to lake X on Saturday ready to pitch away. Tuffy was rigged and ready we did our homework and the bait shop owner said the lake was open. There was a sheet of ice 1/4 to 3/8 over the whole lake. It had gotten down in the teens ovenight with no wind so she iced up. It was open the four days before and many anglers showed up at the landing with there boats too. The brave ones took there beat up jon boats out there and crashed thru the ice. They did big circles on the main lake and opened up casting lanes. Jason, Slamr and Lunchie drove a long way for a good breakfest at the local dinner. Maybe next time!!! | Lake X? never heard of it where is it? share some info | |||
| |||
| Yeti, You've never heard of Lake X? Search the site, Lake X is everywhere!!!! Slamr | |||

| You should of came back in the afternoon, the lake was completely open. We didn't get a fish, but a boat infront of us that used one of our lanes got a mid-thirty inch fish and one I would say about 40 inches. Al[:blackeye:] | |||

| whats the point of a fishing report if you dont tell what lake it is? And slamr the search did return lots of info there are many lake x's, but the question was to Jason what lake? | |||
| |||
| Yeti, The answer to why it's called Lake X is that he and I and others don't really want to tell you which lake this mysterious Lake X is, don't take it personal, its a Muskie Fishing Thing....Hang around for a while, get to know some guys, contribute some knowledge, some hints...it will amaze you how people open up! Or, since you live all of 3 minutes from me, ask me to fish sometime, I'll bring lunch. Slamr | |||

| Slamr thanks for the info,and that was my point why post a report if you dont want anyone to know where? I do thank you for the invite to fish, thats the reason I have been using this board was to find some guys that like to fish as much as I do hell I dont really even care what species I just love to fish. And yes we do live very close send me an email and we'll get together maybe just for a beer. And I have offered some input on others posts and have even posted a few of my own. Have shown up on the chat site and talked with a few people, laughed at sponge bobs comments and found most of the guys on here to be very friendly but there is a very clique-ish air around here and with jason being one of the moderators thought I would point out that he is adding to the feeling with things such as his post about lake -x. once again Slamr thanks for the invite and let me know what good for you heck I'll even bring a few stoggies. | |||

| Yeti, The Lake X thing is mostly a joke....it's generally done on either "secret" lakes, or on heavily populated lakes where the usual fishers don't want to see hordes of others invading "their waters". Sounds dumb, probably is, but generally if you shoot someone an email direct, they'll be more willing to open up. And in this case, Jason is doing the Lake X thing because I asked him too. Just the way it works. Speaking of which, if you want to ever link up for a 1/2 day or more, shoot ME an email [email protected]. Slamr | |||

| I went to lake x on saturday and it was frozen. We waited until 3:oo and the lake was wide open. We boated a 42,39 and a 33 1/2. We also lost three other muskies in the 40 in. range. I can't remember any other time I've caught muskies in Feburary. It's a good start to the season. [:bigsmile:] | |||

| See Slamr...told we should have stayed. We could have fished on Sunday too and spent Saturday night checking out the local establishments. Slamr its all your fault.[;)] [:bigsmile:] | |||

| Well, I was at the Madison Show working, and I saw two muskies, both followed an index finger, and neither hit. 'Course, there was aquarium glass in the way, and it could have been the same fish both times. A NEW lake X!!! [:bigsmile:] | |||

| Steve,did'nt even get a follow from the little guys That walleye looked tempting.Could'nt get the jig out of my finger though![:blackeye:] | |||
