I am looking for cisco replica lures for trolling slowly, .5 mph and up. I troll in 15 feet of water and go deeper when necessary. In some cases I will weight live bait and troll. Any ideas or input would be appreciated.

I don't know about 0.5 mph, but swimbaits generally work down below the speeds of crankbaits. I've used a posseidon down around 1.6-1.8 mph and got bit, but never tried much slower than that. Maybe something like a shallow swimmin dawg would operate and not drag on the bottom at 1 mph.

Thanks for the tip. I looked at the swimmin dawg and it appears to be what I'm looking for. I just need to find out how slow it can go and still have action.

I have an 8" jointed believer that works quite well at slow speeds. Two eyelets that helps control depth.

Thanks again for the tip. I'll give the Believer a look. I am trying to get away from live bait. It is getting quite pricey.

I rarely slow down for musky. You just don’t cover enough water at slow speeds.

“Name of the game trolling is covering water to find active fish”

if you want to go slow, a spinner rig, like you’d do for walleye, with a Creature, or possibly a jointed floating Rapala at your 1.7-1.9

Typically most of my trolling is done at 3-4 mph…daytime! In Fall when water cools I’m doing 4-5.3 mph down to around 42 degrees . Opposite of everyone else.

Books tell you to slow down in the fall…just don’t believe everything you read!
What do I know, I’m just a rookie;)

Use Mark Windels Muskie Candy lures if you have one or even find one they wonder just the Headlocks and Mattlocks for a fraction of the cost. Throw out 50 feet of line and your good.

I am moving slow because I am dragging live bait for musky and pike. I catch fish this way. I am trying to find something that will take the place of live bait because of availability and price.

The way I look at it is, that the reason you go slow with live bait, is because if you went faster, you would beat the daylights out of your bait, and it would come off. If you are not using live bait, there is no need to stay so slow. If you want slow, due to the mood of the fish or the location you are fishing, cast instead of troll.

IMHO depending on live bait size, say 10-14" suckers .5 is as fast as I want to go. Faster they are being pulled and will tire and flip upside down. Bigger bait can go a bit faster. Baits that will work at that speed will be rubber baits. I don't see many other bait types having enough movement at that speed.

Do you troll all season? I troll for Pike all year and have a few Muskie lakes close by I could try as a change of pace. I don't / won't use FFS so I don't know how deep I should be trolling early in the season. It would be Minnesota lakes if that matters.
