Posts: 1430 Location: Eastern Ontario | This brute was caught trolling an SS minnow by Stan Durst in his super perch color. My client Gene released a 52 x 22 on his last day last year and this was again his last day this year when this 55.5 x 24 inch brute came in for a short visit. It was a tough moon phase for me and my clients but I can't complain with such a prize.

Posts: 2361 | Oink. That fish is even more impressive when you realize that there is almost a foot of fish turned away from the camera. I would even settle for the part that's showing! Nice one.

Posts: 1430 Location: Eastern Ontario | Thanks for the cudos guys. :) Hey Todd I swear it was caught on a lure. ;) And the SS Minnow is a 13 inch Jake style wooden bait. Muskycore I was trolling in 14' of water and the lure was some 20-25 feet behind the boat into the propwash and maybe some 8' down. BTW the fight was just awsome, the big girl rolled on the surface right away then she stayed down and swam under and behind the boat a while, once we saw her some 10' behind the boat all I saw was that only the tail hook was stuck in the back of her gilplate. Like I dreaded she took off at full speed and took some 20' to 30' of line and then she took 2 more shorter runs under the boat but luckly the hook held good. I later noticed it was well hooked into the hard part of the gillplate. No wonder these big fish get off more often then not, she had the other two 7/0 hooks in her mouth at the start.

Posts: 246 Location: Jamestown, Pa. | Congrats to you and your client Richard, Very happy the SS minnow did it's job for you. Will you email the picture to me so I can get it to our web manager for our photo page? Great looking musky. It beat the biggest so far this year by 1 inch, Still waiting for pics of the 54 1/2 that was caught on our goodies this year. Another reason why I love to paint.
