Anyone ever receive a rod that has some curve, say in the last 6" or so of the blank (towards tip obviously)??.. this seems unusual to me.

No, but ice fishing rods set on the dash in the winter time have curled over due to the heater? Any chance it sat in the sun behind a windshield that could make it excessively hot?

Nope. But, maybe it's the "next big thing" in muskie fishing! Ha ha.

Yup, it's a factory defect in the blank.  I have a rod like that from gander and it's caught some big fish.  The bend in the tip makes no difference, but it's really noticeable so I pointed it out in the store and they gave me the rod for 1/3 the price.

It's common. It's a defect. It will not affect performance.
I have. Rod with this issue too and it has been fine.
Sometimes as the steel mandrels they build the blanks on get old the blanks come off a bit crooked.

Yes, I had one shipped that way. So far it has not caused any issues and I was told by the maker that it would be fine, but I still don't love it.

It's unsettling but I was reassured by a rod guy who I trust very much that it will be fine. I'm not worried about it! It's a sweet rod.

As someone who builds rods occasionally... It's common thing to get a blank with a little curve in it, not a big deal.

Just like TJones said, its pretty common. Most blanks aren't perfectly straight. Some of them have noticeable bends. Most of the time the rod is built on the straightest axis and you don't even notice it. It shouldn't effect performance at all...
