| This year is the first time I can start fishing musky in the spring and was woundering what would be the best lures to throw. Topwater, glidebaits,bulldawgs ect. Also where should I focus on (deep, shallow, structure, bait fish, ect)

Location: S.W. WI | For me it's gliders, pretty shallow- or high in the water column if in deeper water. I like Hellhounds, Mantas, and Modivators.

| I also really like gliders early in the season. Fish them fast and high over the warmest weed growth you can find. |

Location: Wisconsin | Agreed with these guys. I like squirkos and Shum shums. Fish mud bottom shallow flats, with weeds. The warmer the water the better in the spring, so pay attention to your water temps on your graph and phocus on highest temps you find. Work the baits very slow to begin. |

Location: Central Wisconsin | Idk why I bring anything other than hellhounds, always seems to be the bait that puts them in the boat. Find green weeds and start shallow/mid depths. |

Location: Lake Elmo, MN | For me (fishing mostly in NW Ontario), the rule in spring after opener, has always been SMALL baits. I tend to stay with Mepps black fury as a go-to bait. Simply a number 5 (or Musky Killer at the largest) works superbly. |

| Don't overlook jigs and plastics in shallow water and new weed growth. Just ask walleyes fisherman how often they hook muskies in the spring. |

Location: Poynette WI. | 7" suick, squirrely jake, small spinners and bucktails. I build my own bucktails and spinners and and use a heavier wire though. |
