Does anyone know of a reputable place to find a used outboard besides ebay or craigslist? I've been looking for a used 60hp tiller for a while, and haven't had much luck finding one. The dealers I've been to would love to sell me a new one, but I can't see buying a new motor for a 1994 boat. Any help would be appreciated...

Not sure where you are located but I had a good experience buying a used outboard from Hallberg Marine in Wyoming, Minnesota. Generally they have an inventory of used outboards. Before I purchased mine they put it in a tank and ran it for me. Believe they also offer a warranty on the used engines.

There are boatloads of marinas in the Fox Chain area. Why not call around ? Maybe you'll find a great deal on an unused older model.

I checked a bunch, but nobody has used motors at the moment. If they do, they are on the smaller side. I need at least a 50, but would prefer to max out my transom at 60. Is 60 an odd size, or what?

Never really looked into it, but might be worth checking out the Mercury CPO program? It's the Certified Pre Owned Mercury program for their outboards. Might be worth calling and finding out more?

Good luck on your search.

Hey guys. Check out this website I found. They have a crazy deal on a 50hp yamaha, but I am very skeptical that this is legit. There is very little contact information, no address, and they are not listed at all by the BBB even though they say they are. I think it's a scam. Wholesalesliquidation.com

Quam's Motor Sports would be about a hour from you in Stoughton WI they always have a good selection of used motors. I have dealt with them for 25 years and had good luck. 608-873-3366 I would ask for Roy he is one of the owners
