They have began sucking the lake I fish down to winter pool already, I've heard some say this will turn the fish on and some say it will shut them down. But I come here to ask cause many of you have way more knowledge about these fish then the guys I heard that from thanks !

I love dropping water levels. Don't know if it turns them on, but certainly concentrates them on the weed edges and breaks on waters I fish.

It certainly seems to stir things up a bit and gets them moving more. I think it's all relative to time of year and water temps. They like a little current. In my experience dropping water has been some of my best fishing.

Thanks for the replies guys I guess I'll be hitting the weed edges hard. This week we are having very stable temperature also, sunny everyday. Slow roll a spinnerbait ?

Think the fishing will be slow because of the high sky all week ?

I am dealing with a NE wind this weekend and they have already began pulling water on the Cave. At least it will be partly cloudy and the eastern wind will have been here all week.

Buckhorn, now that's one I haven't heard much about for a while, very pretty area! Years ago my kids and I were fishing Green River and decided to hit Buckhorn, however when we arrived we found it so far drawn down that I'm not sure that launching the boat was even possible. We just turned around and headed back west. They draw it down like 30', is that right? I also remember fishing it another time with ice in the bays, it has been a while.

I would think that once the reservoir stabilizes some (after reaching winter pool) that they should be catchable. Drawing a lake down that much is defiantly going to have a negative effect, and lasting. It's bad enough having a changing weather condition but now add in a changing water condition, that spells tough fishing!
