Got to get out solo today before the climate shift. Kinda neat musky fishing in a tshirt in December in 70 degrees. Hadn't been able to get out much since before Thanksgiving though the weekend before a couple friends came down and we got a 42.5" and a 39" trolling. A friend of mine lost a pretty nice musky trolling this week on one of hour short excursions but she didn't make it to the net. Today I nailed a nice 49" trolling a 10" Jake in hand along a small breakline bottom bouncing. She slammed it right after I pulled it forward with the rod sweep then let it pause momentarily on the backswing. Nothing like feeling a musky try and rip the rod from your hand.

Great reminder in trigging a muskie strike. It is so easy to put rods in holders and never touch them. Nice catch..

I have down easter mounts but either by myself or with friends and clientele I rarely use them. Two of my customers this year have caught fish over 50" holding the rod trolling. Friends have lost two more. Plus the strikes that way are awesome. That fish yesterday just lit it up when I swung the rod forward driving the bait into the bottom them let it rise. As soon as I let it rise back under taut she wailed on it.

Musky clubs looking for a good speaker, look no further than the originator of this thread. He is good and speaks well into the next level. Good stuff.

Nice fish, and good point on changing things up when trolling.
and the whole T shirt weather thing sounds real good right now. Ahh, Wisconsin!

Well don't worry. It's down in the 30s today. But that's about as cold as it gets.
