I was just wondering what people's thoughts were on the reel. What they would throw with it, etc.. Any help is appreciated

Awesome reel, I have a high speed and use it for just about everything in the box.

Awesome reel. 5.4 for versatility, HS for rubber and bucktails.

+1 I use the 5.4 more but for rubber and smaller bucktails I use the HS. I like the 5.4 for double 8's and 10's.

They are sweet reels. I like the 5.4:1 for 9's and up and the hs for most everything else.

I have the HS and I love mine. It's a great all around reel.

I have 4, very nice reels. I use the high speed for topwater, average sized bucktails, cranks, jerkbaits, and gliders, and the 5.4:1 for everything else.

As with any reel, maintain them, clean and lubricate them as needed. They will take a heck of a beating.

Like others stated, it is great for everything. I originally got the reel for small bucktails/topwater but now I pick it up for crankbaits, rubber, jerkbaits, etc. If I had the cash, I'd put one on every rod I own.

I tried a Calcutta and the NaCl and decided on the NaCl 5:4:1 because it felt better to me. With the power handle it pulls 10's and supermodels fine, even in a fast retrieve. Great reel for me, great service from Pure Fishing and great prices can be found.

Picked up one last week, 5.4 model. What a step up from my old 6500. Tried it out Sunday and loved it. With power handle you have no problem burning dbl 8's. 10's are ok at normal retrieve and not all that bad to burn. No backlashes whatsoever and a dream to hold vs the tranx
