Posts: 2097 | I love my Ti rods, I have one in every power. I was burning jrs's in with my tranx hg and my 9'xh tip was flexing the whole time I was burning the bait in. I would use my XXH but I lose casting distance with 8's, 9's and 10's. Would a nasty have less flex burning those baits? thank you

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | I haven't used a ti xh to give a fair comparison but I love nasty for 10s and 13s. It can burn them in and will also handle the 8s. I also use the nasty for a lot of other baits I hadn't even figured on when I originally bought it.

Posts: 2097 | Does the tip flex when the bait is flying in? I am turning the hg handle pretty fast as well. I am hoping with the nasty to get casting distance and on the return not feeling like I am fighting the rod.

Posts: 1744 Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Big nasty/St. Croix over any TI rod all day long. The tip is perfect for blades and crankbaits. The new reel seat takes some getting used to but it is nice when you get used to it.

Posts: 2097 | Thank you guys. The handle on the split grip is 3" longer than the full grip version. I think I will get one of those.

split or full cork are both 9' so you choose either the xtra 3" below the reel (split grip) or above the reel (full cork)

Keep your rod tip pointed straight at the bait during the retrieve. Then the only flexing of the rod there may or may not be would be in the F8. A lot less forgiving on the angler this way as well. But yes, the Big Nasty is the pimp daddy of all rods IMO.
