| Im working on this bait as a creature which works really good as of now.I just need to make a cleaner mold for it.
The part Im looking for ideas on is im using this same body for a glider. The only differance is a thicker body so theres more feel for the lure.Im building special foam inserts that are put in during casting. The lure suspends and glides left to right. Is there any improvements or ideas you guys can provide before i make a permenant mold.
THANKS!![:)] |

| Eric, if this is done in two pours. Body then tail or vice versa, you will have an inherent weak spot where the two portions join. If the action is not adversly effected I would leave this tail to body section slightly thicker than you have it now. If used in the weeds, the tail portion could be pulled off if it gets tangled at all. I have used several two color lizards that have had this problem. Looks like a great "creature" lure. I would like to obtain some when they become available. Thanks, Mike |

| What you could do is have an internal wire with a lead weight that a plastic body can slip over. I think that would be the best way to do it. |

| I can't tell how big it is, but bigger might be better. |

| The lure is approx 8" long and 2 high and 3/4" thick. |

| Rome was not built in a day, neither were Bulldawgs. I have designed and built several soft plastic baits. Sometimes it's just as important to know what doesn't work. I HATE the new solid wire Bulldawgs. The wire is constantly bending and causing the bait to run off track especially at higher speeds. Still my #1 bait. The one bait I made looks like a giant rattle-trapp with a curly tail. I vibrates and looks like a trapp in the water and the tail swims great. I linked small sections of .041 wire together for flexibility. (time consuming). I am now experimenting with 175# stainless bead chain. I reckon this stuff would mold into the lure nicely. It will also give the plastic something to grip to,through-out its entire length. Pouring different colors is only a matter of timing. The more similar the temps the better the cohesion. Also a heat gun to the finished product will make it look shiney and smooth.
Good Luck, RAZE

| Eric..
If it does what you say it does..I"ll take a 1/2 dozen.
Only other thing I could think of unless I missed it in your post is a rattle chamber. Not sure if there's room but a rubber Creature/Glider that "clacks" (like a 40 or 50 cal. ball clack) would be way....to cool.
Good luck with this, looks like a nice bait.

| Thanks mark for the kind words!I was think of a glass rattle system so it go's click, click, click everytime it twitches. The only hard part Im having is trying to get each one to suspend the same.I have been doing is molding inserts out of foam and suspending them in the rubber well i pour to conceal everything inside.Give a month or so to finish it up.Im also playing with hook placement too, seams to give a differant vibration everytime they are moved, and trying a harder plastic so it lasts longer too. |
