I went to both the Chicago and Milwaukee musky expos and I saw a lure there that was a hybrid between a crankbait front half and a softbait curly tail. I believe these were custom lures as I have not seen them online or for general sale. I'm wondering if anyone has experience using these baits or can refer me to a website where I can get more info on them?

Similar to that design but the cranbait heads and softtail trailer were separate. In the mid section end of the crankbait was a large screw that the oversize grubtail was screwed into.

Yep. H2O Cranky Hardhead. That's the one. Does anyone have any info or feedback on this lure. Anyone know where to purchase one?

To purchase one you would have to contact me, I only make them to order (have blanks but none done). I made the original for Howie Meyer has he wanted to get down deep ( as in let it sink then retrieve). The metal lip gets it sinking nose down and works well if you would like to stair step down a drop off. The big one has a big lip and is an armful to cast, they both will troll but I would not go to fast as over 3mph gets the rod holder a jumping.
