| I am looking for a good primer , I have used Kilz and it seems to still peel off a little easier than I like. I am shooting Createx and coving with E-Tex .

| Ya I use same thing. Createx also makes a primer spray. |

Location: Okoboji | yes sir i am,,,actually i use the wicked detail white....dries fast covers good. The reg. createx white covers a heck of a lot better but it takes longer to dry and i think it builds up..i like little to no build on my paints. |

Location: VA | Try some etching primer. It bonds to about anything. You can find it at Advanced Auto or Auto Zone.

Location: Hugo, MN | I seal the wood with thinned epoxy. Once it dries I hit it with a coat of white Createx. Another coat of epoxy and it's time to paint. Coat of epoxy again, then add second layer of detail, whether it be fins, gills or just scale effect over everything else. One final coat of epoxy and it's usually good to go. No primer used and I've never had my baits peel or crack. I think most primers end up sticking to the wood, but nothing else. I've repainted a bunch of old Slammers and Phantoms that shed their paint and epoxy like a layer of skin, leaving behind a nice looking primered bait. I thought the whole point of primer was to help the paint adhere to the bait? I tried all kinds of primers and sealers, and found my current method to be pretty much bulletproof. |

Location: Okoboji | and prep prep prep....did i say prep.. the most important part of a good durable paint job. sand and clean your surface so the paint has something to stick too. |
