| I've never kept track myself, but I'm thinking/guessing I probably do about 2 casts or a little less per minute - 100-120 casts per hour. Have any of you kept track of this sort of thing?
At 120 casts per hour, and given the old saying that muskies are the fish of 10,000 casts (I know it's probably less than that now), that means that we should expect to catch a muskie about every 83 hours of fishing? That means if you cast for 12 hours per day for about 7 days you should expect to put a musky in the boat. Is that right? Does that mean we can feel successful by boating 1 muskie during a week long Canadian fishing trip?[;)]

| I make about 50-60 casts/hour and average about 3-4 hours per legal fish (WI). |

| Depends on how many Pay Days/coke Colas I have in the boat![:0] |

| Slayer,
Seriously, this has been the average from 1997-2001. I don't fish in the fall which is a large reason. For example, in 1998 I fished 137 hours (across 16 calender days) and boated 40 legals. Sorry if you do not believe. This year has been much higher as I switched to a superbraid line and have had difficulty keeping fish hooked all the way back to the boat. |

thats amazing, but i suppose i can believe it if you got a secret stocked hot spot with a 34" limit. I know you probly dont want to give away your treasure, but im just curoius on the location. WI, MN, Canada? Keep up the slayage

| Let me explain why I'm interested in this cast-per-hour info. Some friends of mine saw a saying on a muskie fishing photo (see attached photo of me at sunrise on LOTW this summer) that indicated a certain number of casts in a given day. They couldn't remember the exact number of casts on the photo they saw and I'd like to be sure it's a realistic number before I print this photo. I'm thinking the number should be somewhere around 1000-1500 for a long, 12-hour day of serious casting - 83-125 casts per hour.
Mike T, congrats on your success. That's awesome!!! |

| Not sure what happened to the photo I attached. It should be attached to this post. |

| I must not understand attaching a file because it doesn't appear to be working. Anyone offer advise for me to get a .jpg attached? I'm attempting to attach again to this post - appears to be the 3rd version of this file that has been uploaded. Sorry for clutting this thread. |

| Ok, Ok, Not trying to be a smartass here but I think it depends on how far you cast. For me about 100 or so and hour, my brother maybe 10-15 cast per hour LOL. But seriously Im doing this in my head but the formula on the pic would come to around 500 or so and hour. Damn that would be one tired arm. but if you make 2 cast a minute that would be 120 and hour and to me thats smoking the lures right along.
