| I am going to take a 3 day weekend in Mid-End of October and spend it somewhere in Wisconsin fishing for Muskie. Hoping to get some good ideas from everyone on where to stay/fish. Not sure yet if I am going to bring my boat or rent one. A local guide would be helpful if available. Thanks much, Doc | |||

| Lots of choices for good water, but guides will probably be well booked. Vilas County area - Rob Manthei, Bayfield County - Bruce Shumway, Price County - Brian Long... that's just a start too... Rob | |||

| Think about the Presque Isle area, great late fall area. 7Islands Guide Service [email protected] (715)686-7155 or go to the website at: http://www.fishinfo.com/go/sevenislands/ Slamr | |||

| The Vilas county area should just be heating up by then. Shoot me an e-mail if you want more info on guiding or any other particulars on some of the Vilas county lakes. Travis Kopke [email protected] | |||

| Doc, come over to Western WI if you can. Remember that there is always a 20% discount to MuskieFirst members. E mail me with dates and times I will let you know about rates. Lot's of great guides on this site. I would use one of them if I were hiring a guide. Really depends on where you want to fish. Steve Worrall would be another great choice. Give one of the guys here a chance, I am sure you will be happy. | |||

| Price Co. ain't bad either. I fish the area alot in Oct. Butternut is good, as is the chain just east on 70. I see Brian Long dragging suckers quite often, and he hooks up quite a bit, give him a ring. | |||

| What about the Hayward area? I have stayed at angler's haven before fishing was decent. I understand you can troll on that lake as well. Any and all ideas appreciated. Will all guides be using live bait that time of year? | |||
| |||
| Not all guides use live bait. Some refuse, just like some refuse to troll as well. Each has their own preferred methods. Rob | |||

| Doc, you looking for #'s or trophies? Many places in Hayward. I like Moose, Namakagon, Teal, Lost Land, Round... Fun lakes and great places to stay in the area! | |||
| |||
| Tahoe, Mainly looking for numbers... Thanks Doc | |||

| Doc, There are dozens of good Muskie lakes in the Rhinelander area, too. Vilas is only a 45 minute ride, so one can set up here and fish on liteally dozens of lakes. Let me know if you need info on the area, I will be happy to help. I can put you on some good numbers water, plus some trophy water as well.[8)] | |||
