| when do you T hooks on baits and what lures .i already do on suiks and big daddys , but what about crank baits? |

Location: Grand Rapids MN | I do it on a lot of baits as it seems to help reduce hook rash also. Bad hook rash on wood baits can potentially lead to problems later. |

Location: Freedom, WI | No you can not buy them that way. I have found that if you add a split ring (like a chain) to the hook it rotates it and drops it down. It makes for better hooking ,less lost fish and less hook rash if you have enough room between to prevent hook tangling. |

I will teach you the exact science of "T'ing" a hook. I actually did it to all my jerkbaits, crankbaits, twitchbaits as well as a few topwaters this winter. I am sick of my all my lures having hook rash...as well as the holoform stickers being peeled off by the hooks. If my lures are going to be chewed up...I want it to be because of all the teeth marks.

Location: Lebanon,Mo | Not only does it keep your baits in better shape,but it allows the hook to stick out past the bait to help on hook up percentage.Some baits will still suffer hook rash even after you "T" the hooks due to the design of the bait or size of the hook. |

Location: Pickering, ON | One caveat I would make is not to T any light wire hooks you are using. That could lead to a hook getting bent out on a fish.
I don't use light wire hooks, but some guys fishing non-tropy waters do for improving quick penetration.
I do not T wood baits, as I prefer when they get hook rash and can soak up some more water. I also don't T cheap plastic baits (e.g. Believer). I have started t-ing expensive baits (Legends, Hookers, etc).

There will be two full boxes of musky lures sitting on your doorstep this evening. Please feel free to apply your expert knowledge of T-ing a hook to all 200 of my musky baits
