| Wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of a shark that will follow and/or go into figure 8's like a Musky? What about any other salt water fish?

| ive seen video of tarpon coming really close to the boat to eat but not a figure 8..........people ask why i fish for muskies and i say because of the figure 8

| When I was wading for barracuda and casting a tube lure across a weed flat in the Turks and Caicos Islands I had a follow from a ~3' lemon that got about 25' from my knees before turning and bolting. I saw it coming from a ways out and was fully prepared to do an 8 at my feet  |

| cobia will do it, i have seen it. Jeanettes pier back in the day in obx, they will circle a bait too. it was higher than a musky boat, but i feel sure the way that fish acted if you had been in the water he would have still done it. figure 8 is the bomb!! |

| I've had Sierra Mackerel eat my fly 3 feet from the boat - you have one guy throw top water with no hooks on and the school takes turns blasting it all the way to the boat - then you drop a fly in front of them and game on - crazy visual fishing! |

| I was flipping through channels this weekend and came across "National Geographic's Most Amazing Moments", or something to that effect. I didn't catch the whole segment, but they had a Great White in captivity (zoo aquarium) and were trying to feed it (apparently, Great White's aren't good in captivity because they won't eat).
A guy was standing poolside with a large cane-pole looking thing with a hunk of meat on the business end. The shark would come up and mouth it, but wouldn't eat it until the guy moved the meat away from the shark as though the food was trying to "get away". Totally reminded me of a getting a muskie jazzed up in the 8 by "taking it away" from the fish....
So yes, that shark ate in the 8... |

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | There is a snook technique called swishing (at least in some areas). The technique is basically a non-stop figure eight using a crankbait or livebait that is done w/ a long rod from a low bridge or pier - it works. IMO snook are the most like muskies of all saltwater fish as far as behavior is concerned.
I have caught sharks on a figure eight but it was on livebait that I'm sure they would have chowed on if I had just left if still. |

Location: Greenfield, WI | I would guess that, more times than not, if the shark decides that it is time to eat, the bait will be gone long before boatside. |

| Had a small jack (about 12") last year and a big barracuda shot by and I made a big O with the jack and the barracuda just destroyed him. Only had a 40lb fluor leader so I had no real shot at the barracuda but the guide sure got a kick out of it. |
