Posts: 615 Location: Madison, WI | We got our first snow storm here in Madison last night. Looks like building season is here. I'm going to try and plow through these this weekend so i can test them before the lakes all freeze. This forum has been pretty quiet, what is everyone else working on? Thanks, MS Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 615 Location: Madison, WI | Bass, Thanks. The blanks are poplar, I had the day off yesterday and I cut a bunch of new blanks I've wanted to try and some favorites. I also scored a bunch of cherry at an unbelievable price so I'll be hacking into that soon. I stayed up and routered and sanded the blanks. I'll seal them and prime them hopefully today to test tomorrow. Pikopath, How has the making the resin biats gone? I checked out your site, looks interesting. MS

Posts: 230 | Cool, let us know how they work. Is that a crappie shaped glider in the bottom left corner of the first picture?

Posts: 615 Location: Madison, WI | Bass, It is a crappie shaped glider, I don't see a lot of baits like that and it is a main pan fish around here so I thought I would give one a try. Thanks, MS

Posts: 4266 | I have 7 different styles of glider bodies all in different stages of becoming lures and another 20 pieces of clear maple sitting in my dining room with all sorts of outlines on them. Because I do my woodwork in the garage, it might be spring before I cut the rest, but I have a bunch that I could weight at any time. It's been fun coming up with new shapes and making changes to existing ones. My daughter helped me come up with names for some of the new ones. There's "Whatfishmacallit", Fatman, Skinnyman, and keeping in the Grandma lines, I'll be making some Uncle Stanley lures this year. I can't wait to feel ambitious and healthy and get after them. New shapes and new thicknesses that require new shaping with the router. No routering in cold weather for me.
