Posts: 2361 | Very ill advised to #1 hold a fish by a short leader #2 even dumber to hold one by a lure. I'm sure I've done both at some point in time, but I try and think about things like that now that I'm a little older, and particularly when I am 7 miles out fishing by myself with no boats in sight. Posts: 146 Location: where the fish are... | I did that when I first started musky fishing a few years back, forgot the net hand landed a 38-40" fish had to untangle her she was wrapped in the leader and bait tried to unhook her from her back (she missed a jake and i hooked her in the back) she shook and she stuck me in the middle finger, only problem was no hook cutters and the hook had no exit wound, had my buddy unhook the fish and make sure she was released, loaded up the boat and headed for the ER. Bad day non the less I am still at it but with ever safety measure i can take. Hook cutters net every time. Prolly the worst part of it all was I had just moved and was transfering jobs and my health insurance wasnt valid. Learned a valuable lesson that day. Hope Begginers learn from this video | ||

| If I had a kayak, I'd fish for muskies just for the free ride. Hospital?! what ever happened to super glue and a lil tape! | |||
