I am looking for a back up reel for double tens. I want a cheaper reel that I can throw in the boat and only use if I have trouble with my Luna. Any suggestions including feedback about Okuma products would be great. Thanks BG

I had a Red Isis all last year and used it solely for double ten bucktails and Violent Strike double ten spinnerbaits and it performed flawlessly for me. The one thing I really like about the reel is the handle, it's big and hard to miss. I'd highly suggest this reel for double tens without a doubt!

I used my induron 400 for the first time, pulls dbl 10's in really easy and casts nice and smooth.

does the 250 only refer to spool size? is it too small for muskies?

Just started using my Red Isis and it is great! Looks like a million bucks too. Been using it for everything from little 7" Suicks to big 1lb swimbaits. Even threw a few 2lbers out to see how she could handle those and it did fine. Real nice IMO.

I like the Okuma better than the Luna. The Okuma casts much easier and smoother. The only question i have is ,is the Luna maybe a little better built and will last longer?

my luna casts better then any reel i have ever owned. my 80lb power pro doesnt even make a sound flying off the spool. i was eyeing up the isis though. that thing is a looker for sure.

The 250 is plenty big enough for Muskies, I have several.

I used the Okuma Indurons all last year. Threw everything on them. With the power handle, they handle double 10 well (in my opinion). I just started using a Red Isis this year. This one has the big double paddle handle. So far the reel has been VERY nice. Very smooth, and that double paddle handle works great. I have thrown 10's on it a little, and while the power handles make pulling double 10's a little easier, the double paddle does an okay job too.

I really like both the Indurons and the Red Isis. Either would serve you well for a full service reel, and would make a very nice backup reel.

Even without considering their affordability, The Red Isis and Induron 400 are great reels. When considering performance and price, my adjetive choice changes to outstanding. Okuma's customer care is super top-notch, too.
