Posts: 23 Location: minneapolis | Plenty o' beer and a bit o' scotch is always on board...another quick question...one of the reasons we go for a weekend like this is to drag a sucker while casting...I don't want to get into the whole 2 line/trolling/position fishing debate, looking at the regs, i'm assuming this is cool(in hayward)? By the way..only one resopnse? C'mon! Is hayward and Lac Courte double secret? Lake X? C'mon help a brother out! Mike

Posts: 734 Location: Watertown, MN | MIke It has been several year since I have fish LCO, used to have a camper on there. It can be tought. Another option to mix it up is Whitefish, which is also connected to LCO, but will have to trailer. MY best fall spot was on the East side chicago bay, there is a cut about 1/2 way out with a deep weed edge with some cribs and turns into along rocky shoreline as your working out to the point, There is a old restuarant on the hill, keep the boat in 15-18'. Baits big jakes, dawgs, and suckers, I will have to look at the map to get names of the other structure. Troyz

Location: Hayward WI | Motor trolling is legal on LCO, Round, Grindstone and Whitefish, so drag the suckers all you want while casting.

Posts: 79 Location: South Dakota | I would be fishing just outside the entrance of musky bay along that weedline if it is still visible on the graph, the south edge of the reeds that are located southeast of anglers haven resort.

Posts: 814 | I used to fish LCO all the time several years ago. I would really concentrate on fishing the ring bars directly on teh west side of the lake, the largest fish I have seen have come from this spot. here are some other spots that are money this time of year out there, wismo point, center bar, winters bar, and kentucky bar. Keep the boat out deep especially when fishing the bars and humps. These are mostly rock spots, there are fish in the weeds but I have done better fishing rock out there this time of year. throw dawgs, big joe's grandma's depth raiders, throw yellow if its sunny, go natural when its dark or overcast. If you find fish in the weeds throw big twicthbaits, or dubba 10. and don't forget to stick it out after dark! Edited by mskyhntr 10/29/2008 10:16 AM

Posts: 371 Location: Dixon, IL | WOW! Not that easy to fish a little over 5000 acres in November for the first time! I never fish there and I love look at lake map.....not easy to get start! Listen to above what they already fished before! Brubakers Bay to point of pines look good for ciscoes to spawn.....Rock Pile that from 5 ft drop to around 30 feet deep....little off of Saucer Bar and Center Bar look good for me to try on large sucker and it might have some monster muskies! Drop off near Blue Goose Point and log cribs near Birch Point look good to me! Let us know how you are doing after the trip.....good luck!

Posts: 255 | mikef, LCO is basically my home water (home away from home). We have a home on LCO. mskyhntr hit the nail on the head with all his info. Troyz info on Chicago Bay is good too. That restaurant he spoke about is now condos but the building is still there (new fake log facing on the front) with stairs leading down to the water. You should be able to tell where it is. I have never personally fished it that late in the season but, there are some very big fish in that lake. My PB of 53" came out of LCO and I have raised bigger. It can give up alot of goose eggs but if you put your time in it can really pay off. Don't forget Grindtone too. Big fish their too. Good luck and report back. Would love to hear how it went. Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | My PB came on LCO on 11 Oct 2004. Was an useasonably warm day with calm clear skies Blk eagle tail w/ sil blade on deep center bar. Thats ablout the latest I've fished there but have wanted to get there in Nov to fish but find it hard to tear myself away from deer hunting in Illinois. All of these spots mentioned are as good as any and if you are only there for the weekend you'll have more than eonugh options . i would honestly say pick only four of those spots and fish them hard .... you will find fish on them. Give the spots time... dont get happy feet (a term i use for some of my deer hunting buddies who cant sit still long enough in my prime deer spots) These are truely fish holding spots.... work em and hang on!!!!!!! I'm jealous. Good luck. Be Cautious on the cold water especially if the winds pick up. I have fished a friend of mine out of LCO in uper 40 degree water while staying at the oposite end of the lake. No time to be careless.
