| I ran into a couple of older gentlemen that I know the other day that were fishing a Metro lake in MN with Quick strike rigs. They told me that the DNR showed up and told them and gave them a Warning that they better get rid of the Quick strike rigs on their Rods and put on single hooks .. I almost fell off my rocker when I heard this !! I really do think it's time that the MN DNR gets off the Boat that's called "The MayFlower" that sailed almost 400 years ago and get with the times that Single Hook Sucker Rigs Kill fish.. Needless to say you know what happened when My older Gentlemen friends tried to explain the benefits of Quick strike rigs over Single hooks to an DNR Officer... That would be like telling are Ex wife's to do something.. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ..

| it is very easy to make a quick strike rig legal in MN. just add a spinner blade
MN DNR is also working on changing the rule so quick strikes are legal without the blade. |

| The guys of the Fargo moorhead club have run into this from time to time. Weve been told by the DNR that you need to have a spinner hooked to your quick strike rig this way it is now a lure. Hope that helps

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Well, there it is, a reasonable way to make the rig legal without insulting the folks who are charged with enforcing the law as it's written....
Get the language in that law changed, and the problem goes away. |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | That's going to be changed for next year. In the off season after the rules were printed, the DNR recognized the quick strike rig as a legal fishing method.
Now if the DNR really wanted to be picky, they could get on you for "transporting rough fish". That's what using suckers over 10"+/- (I can't remember the exact lenght.

| Look at the post from last year about using suckers over 10" it isn't illegal and it isn't transporting rough fish! |
